Recognizing that some of the greatest foundations to a child’s Jewish identity occur during the teenage years, Temple Har Shalom is committed to maintaining a meaningful High School program that continues the chain of Jewish learning and prepares them for college.
Our goal is for students to learn that they can view their world through a Jewish lens and look to that heritage for ethics and values to guide them in making adult decisions. We seek to fortify them with Jewish wisdom during a time of exploration and prepare them for the challenges ahead. We endeavor to provide our teenagers with caring, responsible adult Jewish role models with whom they can form a connection and are extremely proud of our staff of teachers, Jewish professionals and clergy members who each take a shared role in fostering our programs and students.
Machon meets on Wednesday evenings, from 6:15pm - 8:15pm and always begins with one of the most Jewish-of-things: food. Our community dinner will take place from 6:15pm - 6:45pm, giving our students time to socialize and catch up with their friends and we include a few “special dinners” throughout the year to give some variety to our normal pizza offerings.
